Josh Radnor:: Josh called up the Baltazar and Maria show on MOViN 99.7, and appeared on this week’s Ausiello Report vodcast – if you’re concerned about Lost spoilers, Josh comes in at the 1:15 mark.
And now, a question for you guys – I’ve been posting a lot of Forgetting Sarah Marshall news and media. I try to narrow it down to the Segel-heavy stuff and avoid repeating the same junket interview fifty times – still, with the premiere last week and the release coming up, there’s been a lot of FSM stuff around. How much is too much for your taste?
Cast on the air:: Cobie Smulders will be on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson this Wednesday, April 16.
While you wait, here’s Alyson’s appearance from last night – includes a new clip from “The Chain of Screaming.”
Forgetting Sarah Marshall:: I was at a screening of Forgetting Sarah Marshall today, and it was fantastic. Jason does a great job as Peter, and the script itself was hilarious – the audience was loving it. The Hollywood Reporter loved it too.
And here’s Kristen Bell asking Jason what movie or show he wishes he could’ve been in:
Stuntcastgate:: Ten seconds of Googling “neil patrick harris” will prove that half the news outlets in the world took NPH’s reservations about stunt casting and turned them into “BARNEY HATES [STELLA'S RECEPTIONIST ABBY]” headlines. He’s since released a statement clarifying his remarks – Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly.
And for anyone after Josh’s appearance on Regis and Kelly yesterday, you can see part of it sandwiched between a bunch of Abby talk:
A better video from Josh’s mini press tour yesterday can be found here – it’s his appearance on the CW11 morning news. He confirms that Ted and Stella are still together [although with Sarah Chalke's return indefinite, that could all play out offscreen], talks about meeting the mother, about Abby, and being hugged by random strangers.
The best image selection I’ve seen so far [at least as far as seeing all of the HIMYM cast is concerned] is in the IESB gallery. [For more Alyson photos, try here or here. She went with her husband, Alexis Denisof, better known to some HIMYM fans as Robin's former co-anchor Sandy Rivers.]
I actually stopped by Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to watch the arrivals last night – nothing terribly interesting, except that Jason Segel made his way halfway down the red carpet before running across Hollywood Boulevard to greet the fans gathered across the street and sign some autographs.
And just like that, it’s gone – with the inevitable first negative review coming from Film Threat, Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Rotten Tomatoes score has dropped from the 100% it’s enjoyed for the last few weeks.
Cast-wise, Josh will be on Live with Regis and Kelly tomorrow morning, and Alyson will be on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson tomorrow night.
This is a great interview – Jason talks a lot about the actual production of the movie (casting Russell, things that inspired the screenplay, experiences from shooting Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and what it’s like being in the Apatow gang), as well as the usual stuff (the full frontal nudity in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Stella’s receptionist Abby on How I Met Your Mother, the upcoming Muppets movie)
Well, that’s an embarrassing side note. But yeah, the Dracula concept, the puppet Dracula musical was not initially for this movie. It was for when I was out of work. It was gonna be my career comeback. I had this notion of putting on this Dracula puppet musical that would somehow just launch me into stardom. And at one point, I played it for Judd and Nick and they laughed so hard. And I was offended. You know, “This is not a joke, guys.”
And, last but certainly not least, this press release has the details on the FSM premiere. For those of you with some free time on Thursday to go red carpet watching, it’s at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. HIMYM guests, apart from the obvious attending Jason Segel, should include Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris, and Cobie Smulders.
