  • NPH did an interview with Out Magazine.
  • Neil Patrick Harris on NPR’s Fresh Air [August 1]
  • A clip from Buffy: The Animated Series, which never made it to air, appeared on YouTube – Alyson Hannigan voices Willow.
  • Jana Rugan and Timothy Russo, the couple who got engaged during the taping of Something Blue, got married. [Thanks, Carrie!]
  • Josh and Neil are scheduled to perform at this year’s Hot In Hollywood AIDS benefit on August 16 – you can get a feel for the event and, if you’ll be in LA, ticket information, here.
  • Neil’s episode of Sesame Street will air on August 12, according to UPI. In addition to the already-posted clip from the episode, he can be seen headbanging with Elmo in this celebrity promo for the new season.
  • There’s a decent chance we’ll see a Harold and Kumar 3.
  • Gloria Calderon Kellett has created a web series called Get Ripped.
  • Hallmark has signed a deal that will allow it to make greeting cards featuring certain Fox properties, including HIMYM. I’m not positive that the new line of cards will include HIMYM designs, but they have the option now, so we could be seeing some in the next month or so.

Doctor Horrible Roundup

All three parts of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog are now online at drhorrible.com. Watch them as soon as possible, because the free viewings will be discontinued tomorrow. [You can still buy the whole thing on iTunes for $3.99.]

One more Comic Con appearance: Dark Horse comics (Booth 2615) put the Dr. Horrible gang on their list of signings. I’m not clear on the details, but it’s 3-4:30PM Friday, and you’ll need to talk to a Dark Horse employee (Booth 2615) about getting a ticket.

Interview with NPH: Alan Sepinwall talked to Neil about the project. If you haven’t seen Act III yet, you’ll want to scroll past the review at the beginning, which contains MAJOR spoilers, to get to the Q&A below.

Upcoming NPH Appearances

Neil Patrick Harris will appear on an episode of the next season of Sesame Street. He plays the Shoe Fairy – no word on when the episode will air, but the new season starts on August 11. You can see a clip, where Neil sings a song about shoes, here.

Neil will host the Pageant of the Masters benefit on August 23.

Neil is on the list of celebrity guests for IESB’s Comic Con party – the only way to get a ticket is to attend the Masters of the Web panel, where they’ll be giving away a very limited number of passes. The panel’s on Thursday at 10AM in room 32AB, for those of you who’ll be at Comic Con and want to try your luck. More information and the full guest list here.

As for the actual Comic Con schedule, NPH looks to be a very busy man: the cast of Dr. Horrible will be at the Joss Whedon panel (Friday, 1:30, Ballroom 20), and there’s a Harold and Kumar panel as well (Sunday, 12:00, Ballroom 20).

They’ll also be screening Dr. Horrible in its entirety – Friday night, 10:45, room 6B.

And finally, here’s some farmers market stalkerazzi fun for you.

HIMYM’s Academy Screening/Countdown to Season Four

This is old news by now, but on Tuesday most of the cast [Jason was in LA filming I Love You, Man - expect a big post on that tomorrow!], along with Carter Bays [co-creator] and Pam Fryman [one of the show's executive producers and director of 60 of the show's 64 episodes], attended a special screening of “How I Met Everyone Else” for Emmy voters. The event took place at McGee’s, the Manhattan bar that Bays and Craig Thomas used as the inspiration for MacLaren’s, and was followed by a Q&A with the cast, as well as Bays and Fryman.

Alan Sepinwall, who moderated the Q&A, has posted a rundown of it here. [Thanks to Erin for the tip!] There’s a ton of great info there – no real spoilers for upcoming seasons, as they never get more specific than saying that they’re looking forward to doing something or what some of their goals for the show are.

For photos of the event, check out PopSugar, iStarPics.com, and Variety.

Speaking of spoilers, though, they might be available sooner than you’d think – this article about exec producer Greg Malins’ new deal with Fox says that they’re going back to work this Friday, although with a SAG strike threatening, it could be a while before they get to film anything.

According to Televisionista, S4 is scheduled to premiere on September 22. TV.com backs them up, but I haven’t been able to find any official word – does anyone have the source?

Josh Radnor: maybe not the best guy to promote your campaign?

Apparently Josh was also at Students for Obama meetings at Cheyney University and Lincoln University – this article about his Cheyney appearance isn’t terribly flattering.

If you have seen/are going to see Josh at one of these events, let us know how it goes, good or bad – just email dary@legen-waitforit.com.

Josh Radnor at Obama Event

So that’s why Josh Radnor wasn’t mentioned as one of the expected guests for Thursday’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall premiere – he’s appearing at Lehigh University on Wednesday to support Barack Obama. [The link no longer works; not sure what that's about. Still, the Haverford event is only an hour away!]

Come hear why Tatyana Ali (star of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and Josh Radnor (star of How I Met Your Mother) think that Barack Obama is the man to bring about fundamental change to Washington and why they have decided to volunteer for him here in Pennsylvania.

You can sign up to attend the event at the above link – capacity is 175, although since the event has just been posted only a few spots have been filled so far.

ETA:: There is a second event later that day at Haverford College – information here.

Weekend Roundup: Forgetting Sarah Marshall Edition

Video:: Watch With Kristin interviews some FSM cast members, starting with Jason Segel – there’s footage of the HIMYM cast on set, too.

Access Hollywood talks to Jason and Kristen Bell:

More reviews are starting to come in, and it’s looking great – Roeper and Phillips loved it, and if the current [and, realistically, unlikely to last] 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so do plenty of other reviewers.

Zap2It has a chance to win some FSM goodies.

And, last but certainly not least, this press release has the details on the FSM premiere. For those of you with some free time on Thursday to go red carpet watching, it’s at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. HIMYM guests, apart from the obvious attending Jason Segel, should include Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris, and Cobie Smulders.

NPH to Appear at New York Comic Con

Though the full official schedule isn’t available on the official site yet [http://www.nycomiccon.com], CBR reports that New York Comic Con will have a Harold & Kumar 2 panel, featuring Neil Patrick Harris as well as John Cho, Kal Penn, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg.
