Compared to other CBS comedies: Third in viewers - ahead of TBBT, but behind Rules of Engagement, which premiered last night. First in 18-34, second in 18-49, and tied for third (with TBBT) in households.

Looks like all the worries about viewership were for naught!
Excellent news, I thought after the episode leaked so long ago and so many people had seen it already the ratings were sure to be down.
So woo!
Usually we think everyone is like us but I’m sure that only 1% of HIMYM know about that leaked episode at most.
I wonder what will happen next Monday when “Dancing With The Stars” starts… hopefully the type of audience that would watch that isn’t the same as the type of audience that would watch HIMYM and there won’t be a huge drop in the ratings.
HP, you make a valid point (usually we think everyone is like us–so true) but with the demographic HIMYM pulls and the fact that so many of us are Internet junkies–to the extent that the show uses the web constantly to make the viewers think that they are in on the joke (notafathersday dot com and whatnot) I thought the same as Rach did. Between the leaked episode and the major drama of The Bachelor finale, I am stunned by these ratings. And thrilled, of course. But definitely stunned.

Really, a new episode of the office is less than 8.51 million? That is crazy!
The Office is always in the 8 million range. I believe last Thursday it got 8.6 million viewers.
I am pissed HIMYM lost over 2.5 million viewers this week because people are preoccupied with hasbeens dancings.
Also new episodes of House, Heroes, 24. A lot of competition.
I think HIMYM might have actually been beating Heroes in the ratings, since Heroes sucks and has no lead in/out, and HIMYM is great and has BBT and TaaHM sandwiching it in highly rated, but bad show, crap.
Heroes hasn’t had more viewers than HIMYM in a long while. We shouldn’t even be talking about that crappy show. We need to talk about HOUSE
I watch both HIMYM and Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) thanks to my trusty DVR. But, if I had to chose one to watch live, it would be HIMYM, because it’s better to be able to use the fast forward button when watching DWTS with its longwinded intro packages and judges nad just to avoid the really bad dances.
I’m a little saddened with the ratings the last episode got but it’s still better than most of season 3. And daylight savings may have helped along with the tough competition. So I think we might go up a little next week.
Also when are we getting a new update? Or at least one for Sorry, Bro?
My mom watches both. She watches DWTS and tapes BBT, HIMYM and TaaHM.

I’m not sure about that… the Barney & Robin spoilers are spun from something that Carter Bays said in an interview (which you can find on Spoiler TV). Now that I’ve read his actual words, all we can know for certain is that Barney admits his feelings to Robin and they talk about it. What she does after he tells her, who knows? I do hope they get together though because I really want to see that.
I wish someone who actually has time to maintain this blog in a timely manner/still has interest in HIMYM would take over it.

Yeah, maybe we can just be grateful that anyone’s running this site at all, rather than complaining about a lack of updates. Because I’m fairly certain that’s not going to be a particularly good motivator to provide anyone with spoilers or stats or post-ep data. At least, it wouldn’t be for me. There are other HIMYM blogs out there if you’re so antsy.
