Why rerun the worst episode ever?

Yeah good point sonja, benefits was one of the greatest episodes of season 4, I loved it…but I was in tears all night of Barney’s behalf, it made me so sad. He must if be heart-broken. But I am sure all us Barney/Robin fans are just glad that the ted/robin thing was just a short arrangement…though you have to give the writers credit, it brought barneys feelings out much more and we know how much he really does love her, even if it killed him by bringing them out. They are going to be let out soon we hope anyway, he is going to explode if hekeeps his feelings in any longer…and we know it is getting closer because he even let them out to robin, though she didn’t realise x
Oh man how cute was Barney in this episode? And I didn’t mind Robin and Ted hooking up because the writers just brought it in to get a reaction from Barney as you said Becca.

what concerns me is that i saw over at spoilertv that the stinsons will film between 19th and 23rd of Jan 2009, now if this is the follow up to ‘3 days of snow’ which will air on jan 19… when we will get to see a new episode of HIMYM?

February should see more reruns than new episodes. Basically:
January 19: Three Days of Snow
January 26-March 2: One to three new episodes. [Special Skills, maybe The Stinsons, maybe The Leap]
March 9, 16, 23, 30: Four new episodes for March sweeps.
April 6-20: Possibly one new episode.
April 27, May 4, 11, 18: Four new episodes for May sweeps.
May 25: Possibly the finale, but that’ll almost certainly air on the 18th.
There are twelve episodes left to air - with Three Days of Snow scheduled, a definite four episodes in March, and a definite four in April/May, that leaves eight Mondays unaccounted for and only three new episodes.

Saw ‘Benefits’ on the net…A really really great Episode. I felt so sorry for Barney. While watching his expressions and his reactions you could really feel his pain and desperation. NPH did again a great job there!
Oh and I got a question: Why do we see reruns in january and february. I mean why don’t they continue with the new episodes, I thought ‘winterbreak’ is over (to excuse this question: I’m from germany…don’t really know what’s going on there in the US ;-) )
From the premiere to the finale, there are roughly 35 Monday nights, but only 24 new episodes. The other eleven Mondays get reruns. October gets mostly new episodes because it’s immediately after the show premieres, and November, March, and May get all new episodes because they’re sweeps months and it’s very important that the networks get good ratings.
So by default, the eleven reruns end up falling mostly in December, January, February, and April.
[Usually it's slightly different - February is a sweeps month and March gets some reruns - but the scheduling is different this year. In 2010 February will be a sweeps month again.]
Oh okay thanks for the explanation. But that’s only with the shows on CBS, isn’t it? Because other shows like DH, Grey’s Anatomy etc. are just showing new Episodes until the next break…I wonder why this is different with HIMYM.
No, the model I explained applies to everything on the main broadcast networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, The CW, and Fox, though Fox doesn’t air new episodes of anything in October) that premieres in the fall and ends in the spring. the only different is that most other shows would have MORE reruns because the standard season is 22 episodes, not 24.
Desperate Housewives is a rerun on the 25th and Grey’s Anatomy is a rerun on the 29th.
