Excerpt: The Bro Code
October 11th, 2008 — audio, barney stinson, himym merch
The Bro Code [previously covered here and here] comes out on Tuesday:
Everyone’s life is governed by an internal code of conduct. Some call it morality. Others call it religion. But Bros in the know call this holy grail the Bro Code.Historically a spoken tradition passed from one generation to the next, the official code of conduct for Bros appears here in its published form for the first time ever. By upholding the tenets of this sacred and legendary document, any dude can learn to achieve Bro-dom.
You can hear a clip of the audiobook [about four and a half minutes], read by Neil Patrick Harris, here. Or: right-click, save. [Thanks to KR for the tip!]
Amazon.com posted an excerpt, which is after the jump. Continue reading →

Promo Photos for 406 - Happily Ever After
October 10th, 2008 — 4.06, photos, spoilers
This episode will probably air on November 3. Spoilers: Three photos are spoiler free photos of the group, three photos are from a flashback to one character’s past - basically the spoiler equivalent of seeing photos of Ted (or Marshall or Lily) in college before they first appeared, Barney pre-awesome before Game Night aired, or Robin Sparkles before Slap Bet. Rerun Ahead/Sarah Chalke Videos
October 9th, 2008 — 3.16, cast on the air, guest stars, video
I know there’s been some debate about how the scheduling would work out for November sweeps - October 27 will be a rerun of Sandcastles in the Sand, meaning that Happily Ever After (the last episode before the standalones kick in) will be the first episode aired during sweeps.
Also, Sarah Chalke was on the Early Show- no new information, but she does talk about the show:
And Letterman last night, where there is literally no mention of HIMYM until the last few seconds, but hey, why not:
Promo Photos for 405 - Shelter Island
October 8th, 2008 — 4.05, photos, spoilers
I don’t know what the deal is with 404 stills - at this point it looks like they aren’t coming. As for these photos, if you don’t already know what 405 is about, the spoilers are huge. It’s nothing you wouldn’t see coming past the first five minutes of the episode, but you’ve been warned.

Third in households: Behind Men (8.7/13) and Theory (6.0/9), ahead of Week (5.7/8).
CBS spins it:

October 7th, 2008 — behind the scenes, himym merch, video
The S3 DVDs are out today! Amazon [where they qualify for free shipping] has them for $25.99, which is still the best price I’ve seen (unless you’re a Barnes & Noble member, in which case you can save eight cents).
TV Squad is giving away three sets. Enter by Friday!
Home Theater Forum reviewed the set and called it “highly recommended.”
NPH-Fan has scans of the DVD set and screencaps of the menus.

October 7th, 2008 — 4.03, barney's blog, jason segel, segel hairwatch, video
Barney blogs about the esteemed history of the fist bump.
HIMYM Style has identified several outfits from last night’s episode, with updates posted as they become available.
Jason Segel: Fugged again.
Reviews and recaps:
Apparently CBS has a problem with letting people embed videos now, since it’s been disabled on one of the YouTube videos and all of the CBS.com ones. Anyway, here are two YouTube clips from the episode:
You can see the third [Barney's failed fist bump] here, and two more clips [Ted spending all his time on the train and Ted deciding to live in NJ], along with the full episode, here.
