CBS has announced three reruns to follow Little Minnesota on Monday: Slapsgiving will air on December 22, How I Met Everyone Else will air on December 29, and according to a press release, Spoiler Alert will air on Monday, January 1, throwing the whole thing into confusion since January 1 is a Thursday. Presumably they mean January 5, but a Thursday rerun isn’t out of the question either.
As for the spoilers - thanks to KR for pointing this out! - the casting call for for 414 (Special Skills) includes the following summary, which explains a lot: With Robin facing deportation to Canada unless she finds a job soon, the gang decides that all their resumes need updating.

I remember a lot of shows having press releases that had January 1 on them last year, even though those shows don’t air on whatever day of the week it was. It was weird.
It’s about time, Robin really needs a job. but we all know that she doesn’t get deported, it would kill the show if she did because it would weird and diffferent without her. And it would also leave Barneyheart-broken. But maybe this is his chance to tell her, he obviously regretted not telling her once she left for Japan but when he got back he was so happy. But now he knows that Robin is probably going away again, he may feel like he has to tell her before it is too-late
Could this lead to Barney proposing to prevent deportation? Sadly, it’s more likely that Ted would step up for that role.
What do you mean? Ted doesn’t feel that way for Robin anymore, though I do agree that I don’t think Barney would prevent the deportation, he doesnt have the balls. But if robin cant get a job, she is going to have to have a green-card marraige to stay in the country, could Barney be up for that job?
As a Canadian who use to live in the US because of a job, I’ve been waiting for them to address the issue of how Robin remains living in the US and jobless. Thanks HIMYM for the realism, my love for you continues to grow.
Hey, I know that this has nothing to do with the episode — but does anyone know the names of the songs and who sings them at the end of: Shelter Island and Happily Ever After??
Waiting for an Invitation by Benji Hughes and Better by Regina Spektor.
Thanks sarah x
Do you guys honestly think cbs will let air anything potentially encouraging or hinting at greencard marriage? Come on, too many shows almost got canned for too much hinting at going against authority, gov-t or law, example: Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles!!
The best we can expect from this episode is Barney’s desperate love confession, but from I understand Robin will stay by getting a new job.. as far as Barney and Robin, I sure hope they end up together in the end, I just don’t know how long it will take..
