Ratings: Do I Know You?

From PIFeedback:

CBS featured four season-premieres last night — The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men and CSI: Miami — plus the series-debut of Worst Week. Here are the opening results results:

8:00 p.m. The Big Bang Theory – Viewers: 9.36 million (#2), A18-49: 3.6/10 (#2)
8:30 p.m. How I Met Your Mother – Viewers: 9.74 million (#2), A18-49: 4.0/10 (#2)
9:00 p.m. Two and a Half Men – Viewers: 14.93 million (#2), A18-49: 5.3/12 (#1t)
9:30 p.m. Worst Week – Viewers: 11.04 million (#2), 18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#3)
10:00 p.m. CSI: Miami – Viewers: 16.87 million (#1), A18-49: 5.1/13 (#1)

The returning series were all above year-ago opening levels.

To put that in perspective, 9.74 million is the largest number of viewers since Ten Sessions, which scored 10.64 million viewers. It’s slightly higher than the 9.73 million No Tomorrow (the show’s post-strike return ep) drew, and nearly 1.5 million higher than last season’s premiere.

From CBS:

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (P) was second in households (5.9/09), viewers (9.75m), adults 25-54 (4.7/11) and adults 18-49 (4.0/10).  Compared to last season’s premiere (at 8:00 PM), HOW I MET YOUR  MOTHER was up +11% in households (from 5.3/08), +21% in both adults 25-54 (from 3.9/10) and adults 18-49 (from 3.3/09) and added +1.54m viewers (from 8.21m, +19%).  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER built on its BIG BANG THEORY lead-in by +4% in households, +12% in adults 25-54, +11% in adults 18-49 and added +390,000m viewers.  This is HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER’s best ever premiere in adults 18-49.

Update, 9/30: CBS press release analyzing the final numbers:

CBS was the only network to show premiere week growth with its returning scripted programs as HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, TWO AND A HALF MEN, CSI: MIAMI, NCIS, CRIMINAL MINDS and CSI: NY all returned with larger audiences compared to premiere week last year.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (P) was second in households (5.9/09), viewers (9.79m), adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and adults 18-49 (4.0/10).  This is the best season premiere performance for HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER ever in adults 18-49.  HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER built on its BIG BANG THEORY lead-in by +4% in households, +14% in adults 25-54, +11% in adults 18-49 and added +470,000m viewers.  Compared to last season’s premiere (at 8:00PM), HOW I MET YOUR  MOTHER was up +11% in households, +23% in adults 25-54 and +21% in adults 18-49.
