There are spoilers coming in from multiple sources about some big things that will happen this October. They’re big spoilers, so proceed at your own risk.
The October date puts all this in 4.06 at the very latest, which makes sense - it looks like the Barney/Robin and Ted/Stella arcs that were set up in Miracles have been written to resolve themselves somewhat over the first six episodes, after which we’ll probably be getting into those standalones that Carter Bays mentioned a few weeks ago. ANYWAY, SPOILERS:
Number one: Watch With Kristin and Show Tracker have both been told that we’ll see a Ted/Stella wedding.
Number two: According to Show Tracker, by the time we get to the wedding, Barney “will have already declared his love.”
Number one in particular is almost definitely a fakeout - there’s no guarantee they’ll be able to get Sarah Chalke back after the sixth episode, so while I’m sure the spoiler is technically true, I imagine it’ll be a little more like Marshall and Lily in Atlantic City. It’s also possible that the spoiler grew in the telling [Kristin's source's quote is way less concrete than Show Tracker's "Ted and his blushing bride are to exchange vows"], because we could just see Ted and Stella going to the wedding she invited him to last season. Then again, this is Ted.
WWK also has a mini-interview with Craig Thomas, and this quote from Josh about 4.02:
“I’ve only gotten the second script, and there’s no mention of a wedding in that one. Episode two is about the search for the greatest hamburger in New York, although it’s about as romantic as a script about a hamburger can be. We’re, like, in love with a hamburger.”

What about Barney’s brother’s wedding. Isn’t that due around about now, or soonish…
that already happened in a ‘flash forward’ during “Single Stamina” - remember, Barney’s talking to the baby?
I think it was said during the episode that James’ wedding was a year later, so if they were planning to do an episode on it, they missed their window because of the strike.
I couldn’t remember when Single Stamina’s year was up…but then, they probably did miss the window because of the strike. It could have explained this upcoming wedding though.
