Episode 405: Stella!!

Spoilers after the jump - big stuff, mostly it explains the October spoilers from Watch With Kristin/The LA Times.

So if you thought that the wedding mentioned was Stella’s sister’s, you were right. If you thought it was Ted and Stella’s, you were also right.

What happens is this: Stella’s sister Nora is engaged to a hippie - she’s given up a lot for him, including meat and makeup, and a few days before the wedding, he bails on her. Nora’s distraught, not least because now she’s stuck with a bunch of nonrefundable wedding arrangements. Ted and Stella have a telepathic conversation about how to help her - Ted gets the impression that they’re going to pay for dinner, but Stella tells Nora that they’re going to buy her wedding from her, meaning Ted and Stella will be married in a few days.

Leading up to the wedding, everyone [minus Robin, who's on her way back from Tokyo for the wedding] is on some kind of yoga retreat, presumably something Nora had booked for her own wedding party. Nora, wanting a distraction from the wedding that should have been hers, repeatedly comes on to Barney, but he turns her down [with increasing difficulty, as her offers get more and more outrageous], possibly because Lily has forbidden him to sleep with anyone.

Meanwhile, Ted has to get in touch with Tony, Stella’s ex, so that he can make sure her daughter Lucy is at the wedding.
