Yes, Chalke explained, she was indeed wearing part of her costume from Scrubs on How I Met Your Mother, as she went from playing Dr. Elliot Reed to Dr. Stella. Chalke explained, “They covered up the Dr. Reed patch with a pocket protector, so I actually did have my blankie from the past eight years with me.”

So where does the new episode, “Rebound Bro,” find Ted and Stella and their relationship? Revealed Chalke, “My poor character has not had sex in five years and she’s very embarrassed about it and has been hesitant to tell [Ted] because it’s kind of a big deal and it’s very embarrassing to her. You know, she’s got a kid and not a lot of time – she’s a doctor. So she tells him and he ends up passing that information on, so it brings up all these trust issues.”
Radnor said that when Ted finds out how long it’s been since Stella’s had sex, “He’s okay with it, and then Marshall and Lily and Robin kind of make him feel that that’s terrifically strange. It’s like anything in life. We inflate these things to epic proportions, but they maybe don’t need to be.”
Josh also mentions that Stella will be back for the finale, but not Everything Must Go.
