HIMYM’s Emmy Submission

I’ve been told by Jennifer that the HIMYM Emmy screeners for Outstanding Comedy Series have gone out! Screeners are DVDs that the studio sends to Emmy voters to familiarize them with the shows that are up for nomination - the episodes they’re submitting for consideration from this season are Ten Sessions, The Bracket, How I Met Everyone Else, and Sandcastles in the Sand.

This year’s Emmy nominations will be announced on July 17.

Thoughts? Personally, I think it’s a good selection that shows the range of the show nicely, but I’m a little surprised that Slapsgiving didn’t make the cut.

Calendar Updates

The calendar has been majorly expanded - now, not only can you look there for movie and DVD release dates [Harold and Kumar 2: July 29] and HIMYM airings, but also cast appearances in anything, like Alyson’s Buffy reruns or airings of Knocked Up.

Poll time!

Summer Slump

With the season over, news about the show is going to be slow until around September. So, to keep things interesting, I’ll be updating with other content as well. News will still be posted as I find it, but every Sunday there’ll be a themed links post, and the rest of the time I’ll be adding other things, like a detailed episode guide.

Now, turning it over to you guys - what do you want to see? I’m open to any suggestions, but if you need some guidance I’m specifically interested in:

  • What kinds of themed link posts you want to see. These can be anything show-related, from The Solids to Alyson Hannigan to Doogie Howser to fan-made HIMYM music videos.
  • What you’re looking for in a quality episode guide. If you’re looking for information about Belly Full of Turkey, what would you expect to find beyond the episode title and a plot summary?
  • Anything else you’d like to see?

Leave a comment with your suggestions, or email me at dary@legen-waitforit.com.

Jason Segel and Paul Rudd talk about “I Love You, Man”

Entertainment Tonight visited the set of I Love You, Man and talked to Jason and Paul Rudd. You can see the video here.

Also, Jason’s April 25 appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will be re-aired tonight, for those of you who missed it the first time around.

Jason Segel Filming “I Love You, Man”

Buzz Foto spotted Jason Segel filming a scene for the upcoming I Love You, Man. As you can see, the hair has only gotten more ridiculous.

Jason will be on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Monday night.

NPH on Live with Regis and Kelly

NPH co-hosted Live this morning, and Anna emailed me to say that he confirmed Variety’s tentative news from last week - HIMYM will indeed have 26 episodes in its fourth season!

Videos from the show will hopefully surface soon, but if you’re desperate, NPH and Kelly talk to Jesse McCartney a little at the end of this clip:

Neil also mentioned on the show that the mother of his longtime boyfriend, David Burtka, passed away last week - it’s surely a very difficult time for the family, so keep them in your thoughts.

Alyson Hannigan and Dr. Horrible News

Whedon.info has photos of Alyson and her husband, Alexis Denisof [best known to the casual HIMYM viewer as Sandy Rivers] at the 2008 FIFI awards. USA Today also did a piece on Alyson earlier this week where she talked a little about her marriage and their summer plans.

In Dr. Horrible news, a Sci Fi Wire article on the musical mentioned that Joss anticipates that the general Internet release will be followed by iTunes downloads and a DVD release.

Barney’s Blog Update for Miracles

Poor Barney. His blogging abilities have been hindered slightly by the fact that he’s currently suited up in a full-body cast, so he’s paid a less-than-cooperative Nurse Bill to help him out.

Ratings for 3.20: Miracles

From PIFeedback:

Dancing With the Stars, which closes the season tonight, opened the evening with a considerable (and, of course, dominant) 18.84 million viewers and a 4.3 rating/12 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9 p.m. Second was the season-finale of Fox’s underrated Bones at 10.15 million viewers and a 3.3/10 in the demo., followed by the season-finales of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: #3, 7.36 million; A18-49: #3, 2.7/ 8) and How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #3, 7.92 million; A18-49: #3, 3.2/ 9), the first hour of a 90-minute edition of NBC’s American Gladiators (Viewers: #4, 3.71 million; A18-49: #4, 1.5/ 4), and the Gossip Girl season-ender on the CW (Viewers: #5, 2.97 million; A18-49: #5, 1.4/ 4).

7.92 million makes this the least-watched episode since October…not that it matters in the slightest now that we’ve been renewed. Breathe easy for the next few months, there’s no need to stress over ratings until the fall.

More Miracles Video

The first clip is the flashback sequence slowed down so you can actually make out what’s being shown, the second is a certain memorable hospital scene from the end of the episode.
